The History
Richardson’s Tavern at the Woodstock Inn & Resort honors Army Captain Israel Richardson, who built Woodstock’s first lodging tavern in 1793. The restaurant is located on approximately the same site as the original structure, preserving its historical significance and hospitality legacy. Today, it blends this heritage with a welcoming, modern design and fun, contemporary cuisine.
